Of course, you might have a different perspective on things if you are one of the developers who performed poorly, but this is what this book is all about: helping us avoid mistakes we know we're inclined to make in the first place. And that's the whole point of reading it.

This is probably the most scientific approach to UI/UX you'll find. There are literally hundreds of valuable tips herer for improving UI/UX, and each is thoroughly justified and validated with actual scientific measurements.

Tough to really learn much from a book discussing new tech during its infancy. It is thought provoking, interesting and a quick read.

I think that it could be shorter. The content was not that huge...I think that it is lacking a mobile usability testing chapter too.

I would recommend this book to all UX professionals and mobile apps designers as it presents many valuable guidelines and hints for app development and testing. However, I was a little bit disappointed by the number of remarks that might be obvious even for a fresh user of a smarthopne or a tablet.

Not a bad book, lots of research to support theories in this book. I personally felt some of the conclusions drawn from some of the research weren't accurate based on how they were presenting it or that they could have been concluded a different way from the same data, but overall great points to consider. The book seemed a bit dated and probably is.

Different Seasons (1982) is a collection of four novellas, markedly different in tone and subject, each on the theme of a journey. The first is a rich, satisfying, nonhorrific tale about an innocent man who carefully nurtures hope and devises a wily scheme to escape from prison. The second concerns a boy who discards his innocence by enticing an old man to travel with him into a reawakening of long-buried evil. In the third story, a writer looks back on the trek he took with three friends on the brink of adolescence to find another boy's corpse. The trip becomes a character-rich rite of passage from youth to maturity.

These first three novellas have been made into well-received movies: "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" into Frank Darabont's 1994 The Shawshank Redemption (available as a screenplay, a DVD film, and an audiocassette), "Apt Pupil" into Bryan Singer's 1998 film Apt Pupil (also released in 1998 on audiocassette), and "The Body" into Rob Reiner's Stand by Me (1986).

Chuck is currently the senior technologist for Racktop Systems, Inc. in Fulton, Maryland. Prior to joining Racktop, he was the EUC practice director for GANTECH, Inc. In his previous roles, Chuck led the efforts to create multiple datacenters that were 100 percent virtualized. He coauthored VMware Horizon 6 Desktop Virtualization Solutions and has given numerous presentations regarding the benefits of virtualization, including VMworld and VMware Partner Exchange. He is a former member of the VMware Customer Council (VCC), and coleader of the Maryland VMUG, and he has been a vExpert since 2011. Grade 1-3-Fans of Slugs! (1983), Bugs! (1997), and Skunks! (2001, all Little, Brown) will welcome this latest addition to Greenberg's gross-out canon. A boy and his terrier have no problem with wrestling squids or battling sharks, but they balk at snakes. Naturally, they are beset by every possible variety, at every possible turn. There are snakes heaped under the bed and on the stairs, and, "With a herculean grasp,/A multicolored asp/Nonchalantly shimmies up a wall." The poetry flows easily and is filled with inventive alliteration and quirky humor: "A speckled anaconda/Steals the family Honda/And races down the driveway in reverse." There is some challenging vocabulary ("pyroclastic," "phosphoresce"), but children will likely be more than willing to make the stretch. Munsinger's watercolor illustrations strike the right balance between cute and creepy as boy and dog try to evade the slithery serpents. Not an essential purchase, but fun, particularly if the other titles are popular.

But just as the boy is getting used to the invaders, he opens up the shutter to find a huge glaring eye, and then a great, terrifying boa squishes him in its coils. Is that final close-up a capture or an embrace? Munsinger's ink-and-watercolor images extend the silliness.
